Veda Fay Hargrove Barnes, died at her residence in Lusby, MD on Friday September 5, 2008.

Mrs. Barnes has been a resident of Lusby, MD since 1963 with her first husband Mr. Robert Taylor, who died in 1984. In 1987, Veda married Mr. Bill Benson Barnes who died on September 8, 1999.

Veda is survived by her step-children Joyce and her husband Lawrence Boide, daughter of Mr. Robert Taylor, Richard L. and his wife Bonnie Barnes of Hampton, VA; Cathy A. and her husband Richard Ferrando of Corning, NY; Billie J. (Michael) Bennett of Corning, NY; David H. and his wife Dawn Barnes of Easton, PA; Jeffrey A. and his wife Kathy Barnes of Lusby, MD and Christopher T. Barnes of Lusby, MD.

Veda is also survived by her niece Suzanne Easton of Sedona, AZ; her long time companion and friend Wanda Denton and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Belton and Annie Hargrove, her brother Beal Hargrove, sisters Ruth Wilson and Lucille F. Moore and her nephew David Hargrove.

The family received friends on Monday, September 8, from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. at St Paul United Methodist Church, 10960 H. G. Trueman Rd., Lusby, MD where funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Interment followed in St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery.
