![]() Joseph Lawrence Butler was born on February 26, 1942 in Chaptico, MD to Agnes Lucille Butler and the late Eli Jennifer. He was the oldest of four children. Known too many as "Joe Boy" and affectionately known to his grandchildren as "Pop Pop". Joseph attended school and was a lifelong resident of St. Mary's County, Maryland.
Joe Boy worked as a construction laborer for many years. After construction, he worked as a farm laborer for many years. On September 14, 1974 he married Rose Marie Bowman, from that union they were blessed with a daughter. He was preceded in death by his brother Raymond and his sister Elizabeth. Joe Boy leaves to cherish his loving and devoted wife Rose Marie, his mother Agnes Lucille, brother, James Douglas, children Joseph Jr., Christine, Juanita and Step-son Michael. He also leaves 6 grandchildren, 1 daughter-in-law 1 son-in-law 2 sisters-in-law and host of special nieces, nephew's family and friends. Family will receive friends today Wednesday, September 10, 2008 from 9AM to 10AM in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10AM with Father Keith Woods officiating. Interment will follow in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Austin Baker, Benedict Baker, Paul Bond, Sr., Charles Armstrong, Johnny Reed and John Queen.
