George Frank Jones, 62, of Mechanicsville, MD died September 2, 2008 at St. Mary's Nursing Center, Leonardtown, MD.

Born June 26, 1946 in Loveville, MD he was the son of Hortense Wood Jones of Mechanicsville, MD and the late Joseph Paul Jones, Sr. George was a Civil Engineer at Andrews Air Force Base.

George is survived by his wife, Shirley Gatton Jones, his children, Lisa J. Walter of California, MD, Jeffery S. Jones of Hollywood, MD, siblings, Agnes H. Crites of GA, Joseph P. Jones, Jr. of AL, James S. Jones of Mechanicsville, MD, Thomas H. Jones of Avenue, MD, John A. Jones of VA, and Alfred S. Jones of Mechanicsville, MD. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Hayes.

Family will receive friends for George's Life Celebration on Friday, September 5, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD. Optimist Club prayers will be recited at 7:30 p.m. with prayers conducted by Reverend John Dakes at 7:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Jones, Tommy Jones, Sherman Jones, Don Hayes, Jeff Jones and Roger Ridgell.
