Proctor, Irene Elizabeth (Age 76) of Bryans Road, Maryland.

Irene Elizabeth Proctor, was born on March 3, 1932 in Ironsides, Maryland. She was one of eleven children born to the late Robert Sherman Proctor and the late Jane A. Keys Proctor.

She grew up in Charles County, Maryland and attended Charles County Public Schools. She continued her education by pursing a career in Nursing.

Irene enjoyed watching game shows, soap operas and football; her favorite team was the Washington Redskins. She also enjoyed cooking and the Holidays were when she shined. At any given time, you could find someone - her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, friends or friends of friends at her home enjoying some of her home cooked meals.

Irene took pride in her appearance. Whenever you saw her she was well groomed from head to toe, (hair, nails, and toe nails) and accessorized with jewelry.

On Monday, August 25, 2008, at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland, Irene Elizabeth Proctor passed from this earthly life to one eternal.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Carl Bowman, daughters, Cindy, Jane and Carla Proctor, son-in-law, Gregory James Keys, six brothers, Jerome "Shoemaker" Proctor, Roland Proctor, Horace "Billy" Proctor, Robert Proctor, James Proctor and John Proctor.

Left to cherish fond memories are: her children, Robert "Sam" Bowman, Sr., Faye C. Proctor and Janice M. Keys; daughter-in-law, Elaine Bowman; grandchildren; great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Bowie and Lillian Proctor; two brothers, Augustus A. "Gus" Proctor, Sr. and Alfred Proctor; sisters-in-law, Louise "Bernadette" Proctor, Elaine Proctor Jones and Christen Janifer Proctor; brother-in-law, Richard Bowie and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.

Irene Elizabeth Proctor's Viewing will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2008, 10:00 am until time of Service, 11:00 am at Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, (State Route #227, Pomonkey) Indian Head, Maryland 20640. Interment, Heritage Memorial Cemetery, Waldorf, Maryland.
