Mae Katherine Thornton, 87 of Hollywood, MD, formerly of Clinton, MD, died on August 26, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital, Leonardtown, MD.

Born on April 13, 1921 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Paul Emory and Lucy Mae Hutchison. Ms. Thornton has resided in this area since 1985. Ms. Thornton was a Homemaker. She was very devoted and loved her family. She was known as the party coordinator, was the hub of the family. Also was a fan of Walker Texas Ranger and Ghost Whisper.

She was the beloved wife of the late George Thornton. Also predeceased by siblings, Margaret Snyder and James Hutchison.

Survived by children, Jeanette Faber of Mechanicsville, MD, June Folsom of Clinton, MD, George and William Thornton, both of Hollywood, MD, and Joan Thornton of Huntingtown, MD, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends for Mae's Life Celebration on Sunday, August 31, 2008 from 2pm to 5pm in the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD 20622 where a Funeral Service will be held at 5pm with Reverend Ken McDonald officiating. Interment will take place on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 2pm in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
