Joseph William Banks, 41, of Leonardtown, MD, died November 12, 2006.

Born December 3, 1964 in Leonardtown, MD, he was the son of Carolyn Elizabeth Butler of Great Mills, MD and the late James Richard Thomas. Mr. Banks was a construction worker for the S.C. Jones Company. He was a member St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Morganza, MD. He loved basketball and baseball.

He is survived by his wife, Stacey Monique Banks of Leonardtown, MD, four children, Jocoby Williams Banks of Leonardtown, MD, Derrell Armstrong of Charlotte Hall, MD, Diamond Brooks and Diamonick Brooks both of Lusby, MD, his mother, Carolyn E. Butler of Great Mills, MD, a sister, Carolyn Marie Bush of Lexington Park, MD, and three brothers, James Richard Thomas, Jr., David Gerwin Thomas and William Darnell Wills all of Clements, MD.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 18, 2006 from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Morganza, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. The Reverend Keith Woods will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Queen of Peace Cemetery, Helen, MD.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Queen, Kenney King, Joseph Young, James Berry, Francis Young and James Holt. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Darnell Young, Michael Yates, Robert Bush and Terry Medley.
