Eugene Miles Bookwalter III, 51, of Accokeek, MD passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Medstar Southern Md Hospital Center at 3:40am surrounded by his family. He was born in Clinton, MD at Andrews Airforce Base. He is the son of Eugene and Peggy Bookwalter, Jr. Gene grew up in Accokeek, Maryland and attended Accokeek Elementary School, Eugene Burroughs Middle School and Gwynn Park High School.

Gene loved rock music, drawing, writing stories and history. Gene enjoyed learning about other cultures. He also loved camping, fishing and cooking out with his family and friends. Gene worked in tree service and construction most of his life. Those that knew him had a life filled with laughter.

He is survived by his son Eugene Bookwalter IV; three daughters, Bianca, Syana and Miley Bookwalter; two brothers Billy Bookwalter (Glenda) and Chris Bookwalter (Sherri) ; two sisters Sherrie Davis (Eddie) and Jenny Oliver (Mike) six nephews ; Tyler Griffith, Denard Hartwell, Christopher Bookwalter, Colin Davis, Chase Bookwalter and Matthew Davis; one great-nephew Trae Hartwell. He was preceded in death by his son Codie Bookwalter.

The family will celebrate Gene's life on Friday May 11th, 2018 at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 27108 Mt. Zion Church Rd. Mechanicsville, MD 20659 from 6 to 8pm. His interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
