Thomas, Virginia Everliena Harris (Age 91) of Newburg, Maryland.

Virginia Everlena Thomas was born December 16, 1916 in Charles County, Maryland to the late Johnny & the late Louise Harris. She departed this life for one eternal on Monday, August 11, 2008 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland.

She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was also a member of Shiloh Community United Methodist Church in Newburg MD. Virginia enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening and singing. She loved carrying her purse, wearing jewelry and carrying her doll.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Jake Thomas, whom she married in 1938.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Ann Washington, son, Joseph L. Thomas, grandson, Christopher Thomas, sisters, Everlena Harris and Roxy Thomas, brothers, Menchen Harris and Ben Harris, daughters-in-law, Charlotte Thomas, Susan Thomas and Eleanor Thomas, son -in-law, Joseph Barnes and nephew, Sonny Harris.

Left to cherish fond memories is her devoted daughter, Mary V. Barnes, sons, John Henry Thomas, George Jake Thomas, Charles C. Thomas (Patricia), William Thomas and James Thomas (Shirley), twenty-nine grandchildren, fifty-five great grandchildren, fifteen-great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Her viewing will be held on Friday, August 15, 2008 from 9:00 am until time of service, 11:00 am at Shiloh Community United Methodist Church, Newburg, Maryland. Her Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.
