James Henry Quade of Hughesville, Maryland died on November 18, 2006 at Calvert Memorial Hospital. He was 69 years old.

Born on July 13, 1937 in Oakley, MD to the late Ashby and Elnora ( Nellie) Quade. Mr. Quade was the owner of the Hughesville Service Center for the past 42 years. He was a retired member of the Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department after 25 years of service. He was also a current member of the Hughesville American Legion for 33 years and a member of the Mechanicsville Moose Lodge. Mr. Quade enjoyed being with family, towing and crabbing, he also owned and operated a catering business with his wife Myrtle for 30 years.

In addition to his parents Mr. Quade was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emily Straub and a sister Elnora Susan Quade.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Myrtle M. Quade; daughters Darlene Straub (Brian), sons James B. Martin, and Alfrey R. Martin (Judy), siblings, Alberta Mae Farrell, Joseph Lawrence Quade, Francis Aloysius Quade, Mary Helen "Sister" Morgan, Margaret Morgan, Agnes Theresa. Gardiner, James R. "Bobby" Quade and Joseph "Sonny" Quade, grandchildren, Sarah, Ryan, Jacob, Jeremy, Brian Zachary, Christina, Krisalyn and Sharon. and great-grandchildren James and Brooklyn.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated today, Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at 11:00 AM in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bryantown, MD. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers for Mr. Quade were Dennis Morgan, Jeremy Martin, Dale Quade, Gary Morgan, Allen Gardiner and Robbie Quade.
