Yvonne (Yonnie) Stevenson, 93, passed away peacefully at her home on April 6, 2018 after a short illness. Yonnie was born on October 29, 1924 in Norwood, MA, the daughter of Ernest Eugene Echardt and Marguerite Deslex Eckhardt.

Yonnie was a member of First Baptist Church of Waldorf. She sang in the choir and was a member of the hospitality committee. One of her greatest pleasures was playing hymns on her piano. She knew how to play hundreds of hymns by heart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Emil Bazzy. She is survived by her husband, Bert Stevenson; son, Derrill Bazzy (Martha's Vineyard, MA); daughters, Cheryl Swenson (Waldorf, MD) and Layne Vercruuysse (Martha's VInehard, MA); five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Friends received on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 4PM until time of Funeral Service at 6PM at First Baptist Church of Waldorf, 10045 Bunker Hill Road, Waldorf, MD 20603.
