Mr. Wood was a Painter for 38 years with The Dakes Company, Inc. of Crofton , MD. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He most enjoyed being at home quietly with his family.

He was son of the late John Harry Wood, Sr. and the late Dorothy Ella Bond Wood.

He is survived by his one son, Frankie E. Wood of Mechanicsville, MD, one daughter, Sherry L. Wood of Leonardtown, MD, three sisters, Marlene Wood of Laurel, MD, Betty (Mike) Hayes of Colonial Beach, VA, and Linda (Jim Lynn) Gould of Hughesville, MD, two brothers, John H. (Linda) Wood, Jr. of La Plata, MD, and Jimmy (Marsha) Wood of Charlotte Hall, MD. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Visitationwill be held on Monday, August 18, 2008 from 11am-1pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD.

A Funeral Service will follow on Monday, August 18, 2008 at 1pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel. Clergy will be the Rev. Billy Bowler. Interment will take place at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.
