Evelyn L. Armiger, 74, of Huntingtown, MD died August 8, 2008 at Washington Hospital Center after a lengthy illness. She was born June 11, 1934 in Nutwell, now part of Tracy's Landing, MD. She attended Deale Elementary and Southern Jr. & Sr. High School in Lothian, and later attended Charles County Community College where she took business courses.
She married Fielder B. Armiger, Sr. on June 29, 1951, and they lived in Dunkirk, Shady Side, Owings, and in Friendship for many years. She was a deli manager for Superfresh grocery stores for thirty years, retiring in 1990. In retirement she worked part-time at the Hallmark card and gift store in Prince Frederick. A member of Mt. Harmony U.M. Church, she enjoyed fishing, bird-watching, living near the water, flower and vegetable gardening, cooking and reading. Mr. Armiger died November 26, 1980. She was preceded in death by her husband Fielder B. Armiger, Sr., and her parents James Webster Sr. and Louise Morfoot Marshall. She is survived by daughters Brenda J. Proctor (husband Philip) of Chesapeake Beach, MD, Ginger A. Nethers (late husband Larry) of Huntingtown, MD, Robin Sue Baggerly of Chesapeake Beach, MD, Teresa Ann Armiger of Millersville, MD and Kelly L. Moraites (husband Steve) of Owego, NY, and sons F. Bowie Armiger, Jr. (wife Christine) and Joseph R. Armiger (wife Melina), both of Dunkirk, MD. She is also survived by brothers James Webster "Bud" Marshall, Jr. and David Lee Marshall, both of Deale, MD, nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.
