Mary Catherine "Puddy" Fenwick, 73, of Leonardtown, MD, peacefully entered into eternal rest February 3, 2018 at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, surrounded by her children. She was born on October 21, 1944 to the late Mary Curtis and the late James Oscar Holley. After the passing of her father, Mary was raised by her late step father George Curtis Sr. She was educated in the St Mary's county public school system.
Mary enjoyed playing bingo, playing cards and cooking. And if she had it her way she would be looking out the window all day and every day. Mary loved being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren she would always call her niece Betty "Lum" every day to talk about her favorite soap opera "The Young and The Restless". She also had a chance to meet Victor Newman and take a picture with him that she cherished so much.
Mary is survived by her four daughters; Rose Fenwick (Wendell), Priscilla Fenwick (Charles), Lisa Thomas (Paul), Agnes Fenwick ("Tink") and three sons: Thomas Fenwick (Shonda), Elijah Holmes Sr. (Kea), Ofori Holmes, longtime companion; James Holmes, Five sisters; Evelyn Carr, Mary E Fluellen (Milton), Margie Buie (Tony), Agnes "Bernice" Brooks, Theresa "Ann" Moore and Linda Green Curtis and Three brothers: Joseph "Joe" Curtis (Bernadette), Thomas "Tom" Curtis, George Curtis Jr and five sister-in-laws: Blanche Young, Evelyn Thomas, Mary Dyson Alice Countess, Rebecca "Beck" Morgan and one brother-in-law Howard Young (Martha), 33 grandchildren, 16 great Grandkids and 19 great-great Grandkids. Mary also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband James A. Fenwick and two sons; Franklin "Frankie" and James Elvis Fenwick, her brother James Edward Young, sister-in-law Nettie Beasley, and brother-in-law James Morgan.
Family will receive friends on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a Funeral Service celebrated by Reverend Paul Nguyen at 11:00 a.m. at St. George's Catholic Church, 19199 St. George's Church Road, Valley Lee, MD 20692. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lamont White, Demetrius White, Paul Thomas, Jr, Osirus Holmes, Ofori Holmes, Jr., and Cornelius Fenwick. Honorary pallbearers will be Israel Holmes, Donte Fenwick, Michael Young, Chester Leroy Young, Paul Thomas, Sr., James Hall, and Elijah Holmes, Jr. Arrangements by the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A.
