Elaine Delores Haynes, 80, of Leonardtown, MD, (formerly of Las Vegas, NV) passed away January 28, 2018 with her loving husband at her side. She was born November 23, 1937 in Easton, PA to the late Robert A. Sandt and Josephine Fisher Sandt.

Elaine owned and operated the Written in the Winds Kennels for Great Danes in Onley, Maryland for over 20 years. She showed and bred Champion Great Danes. She travelled worldwide to compete in dog shows, often to Germany, which she particularly enjoyed. She was also a certified veterinary technician.

On December 31, 2017, she married her beloved husband, Donald Edward Haynes. Together they celebrated over 20 wonderful years of marriage. After retiring, she moved to Las Vegas, which she loved for the warm weather. She was employed another 20 years as a cashier for Hudson News in Las Vegas, NV. She enjoyed gardening and being outside in the warm weather. She recently moved back to St. Mary's to be near her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her beloved husband, Elaine is also survived by her children: Elaine Lourcey (Lamar) of Gaithersburg, MD, Ted Rampulla (Stephanie) of Gaithersburg, MD, Joseph Rampulla (Deborah) of Corringanville, MD; her grandchildren: Christina Carter (Richard), Steven McCurry (Melissa), Jacquelyn McGrady (William), Katelyn Delacerda, Damien Rampulla, and Dalton Rampulla; her great grandchildren: Kelsey Carter, Justin Carter, Ashlyn Carter, Haley McCurry, Callie McGrady, and Riley McCurry; and many extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her siblings: Joan Shupe, Eddie Sandt and Buddy Sandt. All services will be private. Arrangements by the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A.
