Ford, John Henry, Sr. (Age 73) of La Plata, Maryland.

John Henry Ford, Sr., was born on May 27, 1935 to the late Francis Ford and the late Henrietta Ford. On Monday, July 7, 2008 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland, John Henry Ford, Sr. quietly entered into eternal rest.

"Bay Boy," as he was more affectionately known, lived in Charlotte Hall, Maryland until he met and married Frances L. Curtis and they moved to Charles County, Maryland.

He raised tobacco and worked for the Prince Georges County Board of Education until his retirement in 1998.

In his spare time he enjoyed working on his cars and trucks and gardening. He also took great pride and excelled in woodworking and carpentry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Joseph Kelly, brothers, James and Ernest Ford and sisters, Lucille Price and Catherine Ford.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Frances C. Ford, children, John H. Ford, Jr., Cheryl Hagens, Curtis A. Ford and Pamela J. Ford, nine grandchildren, La Tonya, Terrell, Shante', James, Francis, Brent, Paulette, Nicole and Felecia, ten great grand children, sisters, Gladys Coates, Frances Lyles, Elaine Jennifer and Shirley Montgomery, brothers, Philip Ford, Charles Kelly and William Ford and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

His Viewing will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2008 from10:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 4590 St. Joseph's Way, Pomfret, Maryland. Interment, Church Cemetery.
