Jerome Kenneth Curtis, son of the late James and Jeanette Curtis, was born February 2, 1941 in Mechanicsville, MD. He went home to be with the Lord at midnight on August 3, 2008. Kenneth was united in holy matrimony to Mary (Tinnie) Chase on July 25, 1964.

Kenneth received his education through the Saint Mary's County public school system. His love for the outdoors began as a youngster while farming with his parents. His passion and dedication to gardening was a labor of love for him. Kenneth was a very particular man when it came to his home, food and loved ones. He always planted enough fruits and vegetables to share with his family, friends and neighbors.

In addition to gardening, he loved fishing. Kenneth joyfully spent quality time with his family and friends and anyone else in the community who expressed a need. During family gatherings he would dance the night away. He loved baseball and his favorite team was the Baltimore Orioles.

Kenneth worked for Tucker Fowler as a plumber assistant, B. Frank Joy as laborer, and retired from Pepco in 1998 as a maintenance technician after 25 years of service.

He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife of 44 years Mary (Tinnie); two brothers Philmore (wife Elvie) and Maurice (wife Janie); a sister Dorothy Young (husband William); two brothers in-law James R. Stewart (wife Phyllis) and Dennis Stewart (wife Wanda); three sisters in-law Juanita Stewart, Gertrude Curtis, and Deborah Curtis; three god-children Deborah Thompson, Joseph (Tony) Estep, Jr. and Darius Woodland and a host of loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by four brothers Dunbar Curtis, Lionel Curtis, Xavier Curtis, and Leon Curtis; nieces Vanessa Young and Kimberly Curtis; and great nephew Keith Young.

Arrangements provided by Brinsfield Funeral Home.
