Nancy Shugart Stewart, 83, of La Plata, MD. died Nov. 19, 2006 at her home.

She was born on October 13, 1923 in Washington D.C. She retired from the Charles County Public School system as a Librarian and Teacher from Mt. Hope Elementary School. She attended Mary Washington College and the University of Maryland. Nancy enjoyed flowers, sewing, the Beach Boys Music, and animals. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was married for 53 years to James Stewart until his time of death.

Her husband James Stewart, father Otho Shugart and mother Nancy Shugart Palmer, Son Ronnie Stewart, and Son Larry Stewart, precede her in death.

She is survived by her Son, Jimmy Stewart (Maria), Son, Jerry Stewart (Marty), Sister Billie Busler; grandchildren, Anita Antonio, Christina Ellison, Felicia Edelen, Angie Yamamoto, Wendy Kennedy, Jason Stewart, James Stewart, James Robert Stewart, Jeffery Stewart, Jason Stewart, John Stewart, Jeffery M. Stewart, and Ethan Stewart and 8 Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 21 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm with prayers at 6 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 11 am at the Christ Church Durham Parish. Fr. David McDonald will officiate. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hospice of Charles County.
