Richard Monroe Shurtleff, age 70, passed away at the Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C. on July 22, 2008. He was born on December 1, 1937 in Binghamton, NY to the late Charlotte Monroe and Oliver Shurtleff.

Richard graduated from Northern High School, Binghamton, NY in 1956.

He is survived by his children Richard Shurtleff and his wife Julie of Binghamton, NY; Kelly Shurtleff of Arlington, TX; Sean Shurtleff of Binghamton, NY; James Shurtleff and his wife Elizabeth of Compton, MD; Joseph Shurtleff and his wife Connie of Lusby, MD and the late Tommy Shurtleff. Brother of Ann Fronda of Binghamton, NY; Robert Shurtleff and his wife Shirley of Buttler, PA; Lee O'Day and her husband Bill of New York City, NY; David Shurtleff and his wife Lee of Dover, DE and Joy Shurtleff of Great Ben, PA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and a great grandchild.

A memorial service will be offered at the Rausch Funeral Home, P.A., 20 American Lane, Lusby, MD on Friday August 1st at 2:00 P.M with the Rev. Ron Collier officiating. Interment will be private.
