![]() Mr. Gainey was an Auto Mechanic with Waldorf Chrysler Plymouth for 52 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Waldorf Elk Lodge, and the Moose Lodge at White Plains, Md. He loved fishing, bingo at the lodge, KENO and Lotto, karaoke with his grandchildren, and the Redskins. He loved animals and was always feeding the birds and the cats.
He was son of the late Milton Everett Gainey and the late Martha Snow Wilkins Gainey. He was predeceased by his parents and one sister, Atha Hanger. He is survived by his one son, James L. "Bunny" (Wanda) Gainey of South Carolina, three daughters, Rebecca Ellen (Ralph) Morgan of Hollywood, Md., Susan Elaine (William) Poole of Waldorf, Md., and Sharon Denise (David) Murphy of Mechanicsville, Md., one brother, Allen Wilkerson of North Carolina, and three sisters, Grace Cruse, Janet Faye Jones, and Mary Ann Chandler, all of North Carolina. Also survived by five grandsons, five granddaughters, and eight great-grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD. A Funeral Service will follow on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 7pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel. A Grave side Service & Interment will take place on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 11am at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD. Clergy will be the Father Ron Potts. Pallbearers will be Brian Johns, Raymond Johns, George Farmer, Larry Nimmerrichter, and Tommy Howe. Honorary Pallbearers will be Pat Howe and Morris Howe.
