Albert R. Hance, 83, of Huntingtown, MD passed away on July 22, 2008 in Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre De Grace, MD.

Mr. Hance was born August 21, 1924 in Parran, MD to the late Percy and Iva Sisson Hance.

He served in the Navy from July 1943 to December of 1945, where he received a Purple Heart for injuries that occurred in combat aboard the USS New Mexico. After his discharge, Albert went on to work for Maryland Tobacco Growers as a salesman, and then on to Cox Motors, where he sold parts.

Beloved husband of the late Ruth Hardesty Hance, devoted father of David K. Hance and the late Ellen G. Toronto. Six grandchildren, many great grandchildren and a brother Marvin Hance also survive him.

The family will receive friends at the Rausch Funeral Home, 4405 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD on Thursday July 24, 2008 fro 10 to 11 A.M. where services will follow at 11 A.M. Interment will be in Christ Episcopal Church Cemetery, Port Republic, MD.
