John Selby Ellis, 72 of Brandywine, MD died on July 16, 2008 at Washington Hospital Center.
Born on February 29, 1936 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Edison and Winnie Boyette Ellis. Mr. Ellis was a Farmer and owned Three Springs Farm. He graduated high school in Lucama, NC in 1954. He founded Maryland Steele Erectors in the early 1960's and retired in the late 1970's and started farming full time. He was Soil Conservation Farmer of the year in Prince Georges County and in the District. He also did soil conservation and consulting for area farms and was a member of USDA Farm Service Agency. Survived by wife, Grace Ann Ellis, daughter, Lisa Ann Jones, and a brother, William Ellis. A life celebration was held on Monday, July 21, 2008 in the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend's George and Clark Aist officiating. Interment was private.
