Roland "Reese" McKay, 82, of Valley Lee, MD died July 15, 2008 at Prince George's General Hospital Center, Cheverly, MD.

Born April 24, 1926 in Valley Lee, MD, he was the son of the late Joseph Roland and Beatrice Goldsborough McKay.

Mr. McKay "Reese" as he was known to family and friends, was a fisherman, hunter, firefighter, farmer and school bus driver. He did it all and told stories to prove it.

He is survived by his wife Mollie Rea McKay ( Howard ), whom he married on June 23, 1949 in Holy Face Catholic Church, Great Mills, MD, three daughters, Linda McKay Gateau of Chaptico, MD, Mary Carolyn McKay Prett of Huntsville, TX and Sharon Anne McKay of Washington, DC, two sons, Roland Rea McKay and Thomas Allan McKay both of Valley Lee, MD, one sister, Robena Keatley of Valley Lee, MD. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to Mr. McKay's Life Celebration in the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD on Friday, July 18, 2008 from 5 to 8:00 p.m. with prayers recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in St. George's Catholic Church, 19199 St. George's Church Road, Valley Lee, MD. Monsignor Karl A. Chimiak, pastor of the church will be the celebrant.
