A Memorial service will be held Saturday, November 4, 2006 at 11:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, P.A. with Fr. John Mattingly officating.

Jean Theresa Laviano, 79, of Leonardtown, MD formerly of Venice, FL and Hudson, MA died October 28, 2006 in Baltimore, MD. Born August 28, 1927 in New York City, NY she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary Brodmerkel Carty.

She is survived by her children Gerard S. Laviano of Hudson, MA and Michael P. Laviano of Lake Tahoe, NV. She is also survived by her siblings Dorothy Neal of Leonardtown, MD and Richard Carty of Northern, VA and four grandchildren. Jean formerly resided in the Lakeview section of Hudson, MA from 1964-1980 with her husband Jerry and two sons Mike and Jerry. She then moved to Venice, FL and joined the Venice Hospital as an Administrator from 1980-1996 and resided there until ill health necessitated her to move into the Cedar Lane assisted living facility in Leonardtown, MD in 2003.

She lived the last three years enjoying the company of her sister Doti, her three daughters and her brother Dick until she suffered a stroke that resulted in her final resting. Jean loved her family and friends and will be sorely missed by all.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at 11:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home in Leonardtown, MD with Fr. John Mattingly officiating. Interment will be private.
