Mr. Jones was a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served 20 years and an additional 10 years in the Navy Reserves. He also worked as a Navy Recruiter. He was a member of Pisgah Methodist Church and the 2N1 Club. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He was son of the late Edgar N. Jones and the late Bertha Richel Jones.

He was predeceased by his parents, one son, Edward H. Jones, one brother, Carl Jones, one sister, Inez Yerge, and first wife, Elvira Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy C. Jones, two daughters, Diane Montague of St. Mary's County, MD and Patricia Freck of N.C., two sons, Davey (Jo Ann) Jones of Suffolk, VA and Casey Jones of N.C., one brother, Fay Jones of NY. Also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Service and Interment were held privately.
