Mildred Mae "Millie" Cox, age 92, died July 5, 2008 at Calvert Memorial Hospital. She was born July 27, 1915 in the Old Colony Cove area of Friendship, MD in southern Anne Arundel County.

She attended the former Tracey's School and graduated from Southern High School in Lothian. She resided in Chesapeake Beach for many years, and was a waitress at the former Sea Breeze restaurant for thirty-five years.

She joined the Womens Democratic League in Calvert County in 1935, and served as President of that organization in 1962 and 1963. She also served on the Calvert County Board of Elections from 1970 until 1998 and was President for twenty years until the time of her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph T. Sr. and Annie King Cox, her sister Josephine O'Mara and brothers Carroll and Joseph Thomas Cox, Jr. She is survived by a sister Ann Gordon Burke and by nieces Brenda DiMarco and Sundra Cherrico, and nephews Joseph Gordon, William O'Mara II and Richard Thomas Cox, Sr.
