Jeffrey Ross Obney, Sr., 48, of Scotland, MD died October 27, 2006 in New York.

Born July 17, 1958 in Akron, OH, he was the son of Phillis Eileen Barstow Obney and the late Jack Ross Obney. Mr. Obney was a longshoreman for the Reinauer Transportation Co. in Staten Island, NY.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Ann Courtney Obney of Scotland, MD, five children, Jeffrey Ross Obney of N. Ft. Myers, FL, Becky Lonkert of Ridge, MD, Elizabeth Obney, Blaire Obney and Brooke Obney all of Scotland, MD, a sister, Phillis Ellen Patterson of N. Ft. Myers, FL, a brother, Brian Kevin Obney of Ft. Myers, FL and one grandchild.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 2, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A. in Leonardtown, MD. Prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, November 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, Md.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Obney, Kevin Obney, Jeffrey Obney, Jr., Paul Tennison, Brian Lonkert and Kenny Courtney.
