Mr. Thomas was a Retired 20 year Veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam Era and was awarded the Purple Heart. Since his retirement, he became a certified Locksmith, Crane Operator, and an Electrician's Assistant. He was a member of the American Legion. He loved reading, whittling, and science fiction.

He was son of the late Jack Wayne Thomas and the late Wilma Mae Croddy Thomas.

He was husband of the late Linda Carol Corps Thomas.

He was predeceased by his parents, wife, and one son, the late Buddy Wayne Thomas.

He is survived by one son, Matthew John (Natercia) Thomas of Silver Spring, Md., two daughters, Levina Lynn Thomas of Bel Alton, Md. and Amy Ruth Thomas of Norfolk, Va., one brother, Samuel Thomas of California, and two sisters, Hazel Lynn Veronica and Judy Johnson, both of Indiana. Also survived by three grandchildren, Andrew, Ashley, and Samuel Thomas.

A Visitation and Service will take place on Sunday, June 29, 2008 from 1-2pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD

Interment will follow in Indiana at a later date.
