On Sunday, March 19, 2017 Mary Geneva Briscoe of Waldorf, Maryland departed this life at University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in LaPlata, MD following a brief illness. Mary Briscoe, affectionately known as "Geneva" was born on March 19, 1940 the second child of seven to the late Margaret Doris Butler and James E Butler. She attended the Charles County Public School System. She worked as a Charles County Bus Aide for 15 years and also a cook at the Holiday Inn for over 10 years. Geneva loved her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons Calvin Frederick and Rufus Nathaniel Briscoe; granddaughter Eugenia Marie Briscoe; great grandson Joseph Tyrell Gray Jr.; Brothers James E. Butler Jr. and James S. Johnson; Brother-in-Law Larry R. Fenwick and a very dear and devoted friend James R. Makle. Geneva leaves to cherish in her memories her daughters Linda Briscoe (Clayton Johnson), Brenda Gray (Joseph) and Lisa Briscoe (John Lancaster); Son Richard Biscoe (Clarissa Plater); Three sisters Mary Fenwick (Larry), Margaret Davis (John), Margaret Ford (Alex); Two brothers Joseph Briscoe and Clarence Butler; Godson David Chase; Goddaughter Linda Gordon; Eight grandchildren Joseph and Joshua Gray better know to Geneva as (Joshawell), Richard, Jr. (RJ), Natasha better know to Geneva as (NayNay) and Avery Briscoe, Tiffany better know to Geneva as (Stephanie), Jordon and Michael Lancaster; Seven great granddaughters Janiyah, Tyanna, Jozzirah and London Gray, Kenadee and Savannah Addison, Sa'miah Briscoe and a host of nieces and nephews and friends. And one special friend, Alex Ford who she shared all her information with when they got together and we mean everything. Two great caregivers, Sheila Cole and Agnes Brawner.

Visitation will be held on Friday March 24, 2017 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 3320 St. Peter's Drive Waldorf, Maryland 20601 from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Interment Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Adams Funeral Home.
