Joan P. Rackey, 79, of Waldorf, Maryland passed away on January 21, 2017 at her residence. She was the daughter of Charles Peterson and Josephine Marie Novak Peterson.

Joan was a long-time homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family and being with grandchildren. She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed reading and music.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Maurice H. Rackey; her son, Michael D. Rackey; her daughter, Kathleen R. Rackey; her sisters, Barbara Baan, Diane Zito, and Janet Oriti; her grandchildren, Shelby, Danyele, Caitlyn, and Amanda; and her great-granddaughter, Reece. She is also survived by three nieces and six nephews.

Friends received on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 10:30AM until time of Funeral Service at 12PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Maryland.
