Born on March 22, 1931 in Puritan, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Sam Motil and the late Anna Wydo Motil. He served in the U. S. Army for eight years, then worked in the steel mills in Clairton, PA and later as Budget Analyst with the Department of Transportation for 32 years. He loved his home and planting flowers. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and very devoted to his family. His son Michael was his best friend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers Charles Motil and Robert Motil.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara A. Motil; son Michael M. Motil of Waldorf, MD; mother-in-law Irene Martin; also survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
