Betty Ruth Stallings Grierson, age 78, of Lothian, MD, died June 13, 2008 at her residence in Lothian, MD. A Cavert County native, she was born September 29, 1929 in Chesapeake Beach, MD. She was a longtime resident of Chesapeake Beach, and attended the former Beach School. She married Andrew Lawrence Grierson and they raised their family in Chesapeake and North Beach. She was employed as a waitress at the Rod and Reel restauarant in Cheasapeake Beach for forty two years, working from 1949 until her retirement in 1991. Mr. Grierson, known as "Beck", died September 26, 1972.

In her youth Betty enjoyed playing cards and slot machines, and attending horse races. In recent times she loved traveling, going to restaurants, and flower gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew L. "Beck" Grierson, her parents George and Pearl Fowler Stallings, sisters Virginia Henderson, Roberta Hall and Thelma Stallings, and brothers Norman and James Stallings. She is survived by her daughters Thelma Kramer, Gail Austin and husband Harry, Sharon Sweeney, and April Anderson and husband John, and a son Larry Grierson; thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and brothers Chester Stallings and his wife Florence Ann, and Leon T. Stallings.
