Joan Rogers Kidwell, 79, of Swan Point, MD passed away on November 8, 2016, at University of MD Charles Regional Medical Center, La Plata, MD. Born on October 15, 1937 in Washington, D.C., to the late William Oliver and Mignon Theresa (Yingling) Rogers, she worked as an Administrative Assistant at the United States Census Bureau.

Ms. Kidwell (or Joan) was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved taking vacations with her family and friends to Ocean City, MD. An avid shopper and landscaper (or gardener), she also especially enjoyed dancing and cooking for the holidays. She avidly cheered the Washington Redskins, enjoyed traveling with her friends, and read James Patterson mysteries.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Donald Francis Kidwell, Sr. and her sister Mignon Goldbranson. She is survived by her son Donald F. Kidwell, Jr; two daughters: Theresa L. Brown (Doug) and Kelley K. Clancy (Kevin); six grandchildren: Chris Brown (Kaila), Christina Brown, Ryan Brown (fiancée Jessica Heckman), Rachel Clancy, Connor Clancy and Dillon Clancy; two great-grandchildren: Cody Brown and Aiden Willett; and one brother, William O. Rogers, III (Pat).

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, from 10:30 AM until time of service at 12:30 PM at Raymond Funeral Service, 5635 Washington Ave, La Plata, MD 20646, Committal and Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD.
