On Monday, October 31, 2016, Wallace Reed Thomas affectionately known as "(Wild Bill) Daddy, Homie, Couch Rider and Pop-Pop" suddenly departed this life at his home in Newburg Maryland, surrounded by family and friends.

Wallace was born in Tompkinsville, Maryland to the late Joseph and Carrie Thomas. He was the last surviving of nine children. In addition to his parents, three sisters and five brothers, he was also preceded in death by his son, Felix M. Thomas.

Wallace attended Charles County Public Schools. He was self-employed as a Painter. Wallace was a sports fanatic; he loved all sports and watched them year-round. His favorite team was the Washington Redskins. Wallace enjoyed life to the fullest! He had many hobbies such as: card playing, a passion for music that would drive him to pluck on his guitar (never completing a whole song trying to convince us he had a new song but it was the same tune), a flair for fashion and was known as one of the smoothest hand dancers, and Bop Kings around. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends; mostly his grandsons.

Left to cherish many fond memories are a devoted companion of fifty-one years: Maize Butler; son, Alvin Thomas (Doris); daughters, Althea Proctor (Charles) and Florine "Dina" Brawner; three sister's-in-law, Hazel Thomas, Mary Wells, Joyce Thomas; one brother-in-law, Russell Holton; four grandsons, Alvin Thomas II (Brianna), Tevin, Keshawn, and Terrence; one great grandson, Alo James Thomas; a "ride or die" niece, Tina Thomas and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, devoted family and friends.

His viewing will be held from 4pm until time of service 6pm on Sunday, November 6, 2016 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD 20640. Arrangements by Thornton Funeral Home.
