William "Benny" Bush, 95, of Lexington Park, MD was called home on September 4, 2016 at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital, Leonardtown, MD surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on February 1, 1921 in Budds Creek, MD to the late Andrew Sylvester Bush and Marie Tolbet.

William received his education in the St. Mary's County Public Schools. He joined the U. S. Army, where he served our country with courage and bravery to protect our freedom and was honorably discharged. William married the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth Johnson. He did whatever was necessary to ensure she was safe, happy and cared for. They were blessed with 14 children. William began doing what he loved to do. He worked on the farm, did construction and worked in the union. He was a person of good moral character. He was a very likeable, fun, and loving person.

He was always a positive person and loyal to his family and friends. He shined on all who knew him and had the opportunity to meet him. William knew that life was about being happy and being able to enjoy life. He enjoyed playing cards, waiting for the "boys" to come over to roll dice. He also loved relaxing in his recliner and watching Red Fox with his wife. He loved to dance with his wife and enjoyed her good southern cooking. William enjoyed seeing his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his beloved wife, William is also survived by his children; William Benjamin Bush, Helen "Doll Baby" Ford, James "Bay Boy" Bush, George "Bobby" Bush, Joseph "Bubba" Bush, Joyce Frederick (Elvis), Rose Ann Sye, Izella E. Bush (Tracey), Mike C. Bush, Johnny Bush (Hope), Tina M. Bush, Scott T. Bush (Helen), grandchildren and great grandchildren, his siblings; Della Smith, Pauline Bush, Clarise Young, Arline Bush, Margaret Moore, George Bush, Clarence Bush, John Bush, Tommy Bush, Leroy Bush, Cleveland Fenwick, George French Baker, James Bush, Helen J. Cole and a host of friends, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his son, Phillip Roosevelt Bush, a daughter, Mary Lavella Bush and son in law, William Sye.

Family will receive friends for William's Life Celebration on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m., with a Funeral Service celebrated at 12:00 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, 26325 Point Lookout Road, Leonardtown, MD. Arrangements by the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., Leonardtown, MD.
