John Adrian "Eddie" Savoy was the eighth born of 15 children to Richard "Ray" Savoy and the late Elizabeth A. "Hazel" Savoy on September 4, 1957 at Freemont Hospital in Washington, DC. He slipped into eternal rest on August 31, 2016 at his home in Indian Head, Maryland.

Eddie was baptized at St Francis Catholic Church in Benedict, Maryland and he remained in his Catholic Faith. He was educated in Saint Mary's County Public School System. His employment included a variety of jobs until he went out on disability.

Eddie was married to his devoted loving wife, Chrissy, for 39 years and from this union of love they have two children; son Jermaine, daughter, Victoria "Vicky" and one grandson, Terrell. Eddie's children and grandson are his most proudest accomplishments.

Eddie was a wonderful person and an awesome husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially Chrissy, Jermaine, Vicky and his pride and Joy, Terrell. No matter the situation, his family came first. He was known for his sense of humor and always had a positive attitude. He made anyone who was in need of advice or in trouble to leave with a smile on his or her face.

Eddie also loved spending time with his Dad watching football games, especially watching his #1 Team "Redskins" on Sundays during football season. He also loved playing cards, listening to music and making CDs to enjoy on special occasions with family and friends. Eddie also enjoyed entertaining family and friends with his witty comments which made people laugh.

Eddie was preceded in death by his mother, "Hazel" and his brothers; Marvin, and Bobby Savoy. He leaves to cherish fond memories his loving and devoted wife, Chrissy, son; Jermaine (Tia), expectant daughter, Vicky (Eddie), his pride and joy, grandson; Terrell, devoted mother-in-law, Shirley Proctor, only godson, Matthew "Matt" Proctor, father, Richard "Ray" Savoy, nine brothers; Richard R. "Junior" (Salome), A. Eugene "Gene" (Karen), William M. "Willie" (Christine), Karl M. (Cindy), Thomas R. "Tommy" (Roxanne), G. Alan (Marilyn), James B. "Jimmy" (Jackie), Kevin D. (Ann Marie), Marvin's fiancée, (Soraya Barnes), and Brian K. Savoy (Tosha), three sisters; E. Alice Banks (Ronnie), Rose B "Sis" (Earnest) and M. Doreen Savoy (Joe), sisters-in-law; Janie, Joyce, Wanda, Sherri and Lina, brothers-in-law; Mark, Jerry and Darryll, Aunts; Lille and Betty Thompson, Estelle, Pauline and Margaret Savoy, and a host of close family and friends.

Viewing will be held from 9am on Thursday, October 8, 2016 until time of Mass, 10am at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 3320 St. Peter's Drive, Waldorf, MD 20601. Interment Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Thornton Funeral Home.
