Joseph Alan Gilroy, 34, of Nanjemoy, Maryland died on August 18, 2016. Joe, as he was affectionately known as, was born on October 4, 1981 in Seneca, South Carolina to Carolyn Lee Gilroy and Marvin Lee Gilroy. In addition to his parents, Joe is survived by his brother Daniel Blackwell and his wife Amy; his nephew Matthew Lee Blackwell; many friends and co-workers.

He was a Heavy Equipment Operator with Infrasource, LLC and a member of the Pipefitters Union and the international union of operating engineers AFL-CIO. Joe enjoyed fishing, being at campfires, listening to country music and being with his family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 5 PM until time for the Memorial Service to begin at 7PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to BB and T Bank (Routing Number 055003308), P. O.
