Frances Anna Smith, 72, of Lexington Park, MD passed away on August 6, 2016 in Leonardtown, MD. Born on April 9, 1944 in Brandywine, MD she was the daughter of the late Mary Louise Smith and James Clinton Smith.

Frances is survived by her children: William L. Willett (Carrie) of Mechanicsville, MD, Andrew A. Burroughs (June) of Lexington Park, MD, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Siblings: Margaret Pickerel, Evelyn Gates, Florence Macanlee, and Elizabeth Canter. She was preceded in death by her son Eugene M. Willett, Jr, siblings: Norris Smith, Martha Ballengee, James Smith, Joe Smith, Catherine Cheseldine, Mary Slaughter, William Smith, and Cindy Smith.

She graduated from Surratsville High School in 1962 and moved from Accokeek, MD to St. Mary's County MD in 1967. Frances was self-employed in home care, helping people in their homes with household chores, taking care of the sick and elderly. Frances enjoyed gardening, helping those in need, her miniature Pomeranian "Max", visiting with friends, spending time with her special friend David Saxon, and her grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop William McClean officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers will be: Zachary Willett, Madison Willett, Joseph Kidwell, Jr., Mike Currie, John Smith, and Hilton Pickeral. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Chase Ashby, Brittany Kidwell, and Andrew Burroughs, Jr. Arrangements by Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home.
