![]() He was a retired Civil and Electrical Engineer with NASA and Bechtel Corp. for 40 years. He was a graduate of Drexel University. He was most proud of the VLA Project in New Mexico that he worked on. He enjoyed playing the organ, time with his grandchildren and taking trips. They took a family history tour from New York to Florida. A life member of IEEE. His hobbies including coaching basketball, baseball and football. An avid Washington Redskin and Notre Dame fan.
Son of the late Raymond J. Stanton and the late Bernadette Muldoon Stanton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Therese "Tess" Stanton and two brothers Gene and Raymond Stanton. Survived by his two daughters, Connie (Buddy) Smallwood of Front Royal, VA and Dolly (Chip) Lewis of Crownsville, MD; two sons Michael J. (Karen) Stanton of Mt. Airy, MD and Joseph (Mary) Stanton of Waldorf, MD; also survived by grandchildren Jen, Michelle, Lori, Theresa, Jason and Rebecca; great grandchildren Tyler, Austin, Larkin and Violet. Visitation on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 from 6-8pm with Prayers at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, Md. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Monsignor Bill Parent on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 11 am at St. Peter's Church Waldorf, MD. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, Md.
