Robert Allen "Chicken Bob" Wathen, 85, of Faulkner Maryland passed away on July 9, 2016. He was born on June 4, 1931 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to the late James Leo Wathen and the late Mary Louise Wathen.

Bob was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force in 1952 after serving time in France and Germany. He was employed as a mechanic and also as a security guard for Wells Fargo with the rank of Sargent. Bob enjoyed reading, following the stock market, and was a long time member of the VFW in Bel Alton Maryland.

In addition to his parents, Bob is predeceased in death by his brother, James Monroe "Chick" Wathen. Bob is survived by his sisters, Carol Ann Rice, Laura Lou Bracey, sister-in-law Delores Wathen, and numerous other family and friends.

Family and friends will be welcomed on Friday, July 15 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall Maryland 20622 with a service at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
