David Ray Keener, 78, of Hughesville, died on May 26, 2016 in La Plata, MD. Born February 7, 1938 in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Ray Keener and the late Mabel Goldsboro Keener.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Diane Keener and his brother, Frederick Keener. David is survived by his son, Kenneth Keener and daughter, Wendy VanHoozier (Johnny), grandchildren, Brandon, Katie and Emily VanHoozier and his sister, Shirley Stange.

David worked for the United States Postal Service as the Postmaster of the Leonardtown Post Office. He enjoyed working in his yard, Formula One racing and was a dedicated father, husband and grandfather.

Family will welcome friends for Visitation on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601.
