Bunky Conner was born June 29, 1946 and raised in Calvert County, Maryland. He joined the Marine Corps and served for 4 years. Bunky then joined the Charles County Sheirff's Department, achieving the rank of Corporal. In 1980 Bunky married Kathleen Luskey and became stepdad to Steve, Teri and Brian. Upon leaving the Sheriff's Department, he fulfilled his dream of becoming a charterboat Captain and ultimately owning his own charterboat fleet: Kathy C, Red Osprey, and Marchelle. The "Kathy C" was his pride and joy, docked at his marina on Solomons Island, and named after his loving wife. He loved to hunt waterfowl.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his mother, Margaret Flanagan; father, Boots Conner; sister, Janice Faye Nicholson and her husband, Danny; nephew, Dwayne, and niece, Danelle. He was a proud "Pop" to six grandchildren: Steven, Makenzie, Jacob, Haley, Morgan and Natalie. He also adored his four dogs: three black labs and one brown -- Duke, Ike, Star and Ginger. They were treated like royalty to the point of being hand-fed and having music piped into their kennel.

He also had another love and that was working on Judge Bowen's farm. He drove the heavy equipment and was adament on getting the spinach picked on time. Even though he was ill, he had the will and determination to continue to work on this farm up until two weeks before he died. Bunky died peacefully at his residence with his wife by his side.

Bunky liked a good joke, playing pranks, and had a hearty laugh. He is loved and will be missed deeply! Bunky - FISH ON!

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 22, 2008 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at the Rausch Funeral Home, P.A., 20 American Lane, Lusby, MD where a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family asks for contributions to be made to Calvert Memorial Hospital Infusion Center, 110 Hospital Drive, Prince Frederick, MD 20678.
