James "Jimmy" Wesley Long, 64, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on April 14, 2016 in Patuxent River, MD. Born November 27, 1951 in Leonardtown, MD he was the son of the late Joan Elizabeth and John Richard Long.

Jimmy was the loving husband of the late Patricia Ann Clarke Long whom he married in 1972 in St. Joseph's Church and preceded him in death on September 2, 2015.

He is survived by his daughter; Marybeth Bullock of Woodford, VA, grandchildren; Dustin Bullock and Brooke Bullock, siblings; Butch John (Robin) Long of Newburg, MD, David (Rose) Long , Kenny (Ginger) Long, both of Mechanicsville, MD, Freddie (Debbie) Long of Hermanville, MD and the late Bradley Long, also survived by his sister-in-law Sue Long.

Jimmy was a lifelong resident of St. Mary's County, he graduated from Chopticon High school, and served in the U.S. Army from 1979 to 1983 he was stationed at Ft. Myer, VA during his service he earned the Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Professional Development Ribbon, Marksmen Qualification Badge with Rifle, Sharpshooter Qualification Badge with Hand Grenade and Sharpshooter Qualification Badge with Dragon, he also retired from the Army National Guard after 21 years of service. Jimmy was an Electrician for IAP World Services on Patuxent River Naval Air Base.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 10:00AM in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers will be: J.D. Clarke, Robby Lyons, Michael Long, Jesse Long, David Long and Butch (John) Long. Arrangements provided by the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD.
