![]() Mr. Nichols was an Explosive Test Operator with Harry Diamond Labs Blossom Point, MD for 20 years. He served in the U. S. Army from 1965 to 1967. A member of Bethel Baptist Church in Ripley, MD and member of the Southern Knights Car Club and Tri-County Crusiers with his 1967 Dodge RT. He worked with the Southern Maryland Blue Crab Baseball Stadium as a ticket taker and usher. He was also a delivery man for Davis Florist and had worked for M & M Contractors with N.O.S. following his retirement from Harry Diamond Labs. He was also a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed playing guitar, bluegrass and gospel music, fishing, NASCAR, drag racing, rebuilding old cars and cooking for which he won awards at the Charles County Fair.
Son of the late William Joseph Nichols and the late Beatrice Gladys Spicer Nichols. Survived by his wife Vera S. Nichols; one son, Troy Nichols of La Plata, MD; step-father, Charles Edward Nichols; one sister, Linda Nichols of Perryville, MD; one grandson, William Joseph Nichols; two nephews; two great nieces; one great nephew. Visitation on Thursday, May 15, 2008 from 2-4 & 6-8PM at the Bethel Baptist Church Ripley, MD. Funeral Service on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 7PM at the Bethel Baptist Church Ripley, MD. Clergy will be Reverend Scott Corbett. Interment at 12 Noon Friday, May 16, 2008 at Harford Memorial Gardens in Havre de Grace, MD. Pallbearers are Mike Shipley, Rodney Shipley, Mike Kline, Scott Grieninger, George Grieninger, and Mark Valdivia. Honorary Pallbearers are U. S. Army Honor Guard.
