Karen Nolan Scopp passed away unexpectedly on April 9, 2016 at her residence. Born on January 25, 1950 in Delaware, PA to the late Lawrence Nolan and the late Eleanor Lee Nolan.

Karen is survived by her sons, Stephen Scopp and his wife, Corie, Christopher Scopp and Michael Scopp; sister, Kimberly Welniak and her husband, Edward; nieces, Rachel Crowley and Samantha Welniak; and grandchildren, Timothy, Mark, Grace, Hannah and Noah.

Karen graduated from Laurain High School and attended the University of Pennsylvania Nursing School. She moved to Southern Maryland and became employed as an Administrative Assistant at the Charles Regional Medical Center, where she recently retired. Karen enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.

The family will receive friends at the Arehart Echols Funeral Home (211 St. Mary's Ave., La Plata, MD) on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 6-8PM with prayers starting at 6PM. A Memorial Service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (201 St. Mary's Ave., La Plata, MD) on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 10AM; Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery (8000 Woodyard Rd., Clinton, MD).
