Mary Lillian Blackistone Anderson, 97, of Abell, MD passed away on March 30, 2016 at her residence. Born on September 3, 1918 in Hollywood, MD, she was the daughter of the late Frances Violet Lathroum and Leo Aloysius Lathroum. Mary was the loving wife of the late Thomas Dewey Blackistone and William Alfred Anderson.

Mary is survived by her children; Dorothy Norris (Bubba) of Hollywood, MD, Carolyn Stine (George) of Cobb Island, MD, Shirley Morris (Charlie) of Avenue, MD, Regina Erickson (Rick) of Simpsonville, SC, LeRoy Blackistone (Janice) of Chaptico, MD, Brenda Mattingly (Jamie) of Avenue, MD, step son Larry, 31 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 20 great great grandchildren. Siblings; Theresa Knight, Mary Kelley, Wallace Lathroum, and James Lathroum.

She was preceded in death by her son Thomas Dewey Blackistone, Jr, step daughters Shuggie and Doris, siblings; Estelle Farrell, Agnes Card, Catherine Burke, Helen Eckard, Margaret Hall, and Aloysius Lathroum.

She was a lifelong St. Mary's County, MD resident. Mary enjoyed, spending time with her children and grandchildren, as well as, sitting around telling stories from way back.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 Am in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Avenue, MD with Father Anthony Lickteig officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.

Pallbearers will be; Roy Blackistone, Jr, CB Morris, Mikey Blackistone, Joey Blackistone, Mike Ellis, and Jamie Woodall. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Keith Souders, Willie Johnson, and Lee Stine. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Seventh Dist. Vol. Rescue Squad P.O. Box 7 Avenue, MD 20609, and Hospice of St. Mary's P.O. Box 625 Leonardtown, MD 20650.
