Taylor, Paul W., 88, of (Pisgah) Indian Head, MD.

Paul William Taylor was born December 11, 1927 to the late Joseph and Rosie Taylor in Pisgah, Maryland. At the age of 88, he departed this earthly life on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, Charlotte Hall, MD.

At an early age, Paul attended Smith Chapel United Methodist Church and Charles County Schools. He served in the U.S. Army. In 1965, Paul married Geraldine Harvey who preceded him in glory on October 24, 2014.

He was employed and retired from the Naval Ordnance Station, currently known as Naval Warfare Surface Center in Indian Head, MD.

"PT," as he is sometime called, enjoyed watching game shows on TV, playing cards with his buddies, bowling and fishing. Farming was a pleasure for Paul, raising all kinds of vegetables along with the pigs and turkeys for his family, community and friends, near and far. PT's greatest joy was Thanksgiving of 2015 when his siblings, sons, many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends visited him and enjoyed great company and meals with him.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is also preceded in death by his siblings, Roberta, Everett, Joseph "Duck," and Jenessee. Left to fondly cherish his memory are his sons, Kenny, Vaughn, Dwayne, Paul "Wewe" and Tony; sisters, Lena Lancaster and Anita Taylor of Newark, NJ, several grand and great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Betty Taylor, Sylvia Parker "Glynn" and Marguerite Harvey; brothers-in-law, Paul Harvey, James "Bruts" Harvey "Phyllis," godchild, Corrine Jamison and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

His viewing will be held from 10am until time of service 11am on Thursday, March 10, 2016 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD 20640. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD. Arrangements provided by Thornton Funeral Home.
