Barbara Virginia Adams, 70 of La Plata, MD died February 18, 2016 at her son's home in Nanjemoy, MD.

Barbara was a cafeteria worker at the Walter J. Mitchell Elementary School (Charles County Public Schools) and was a member of the Moose Lodge in White Plains, MD. She enjoyed cooking, playing slots, and being on the Internet. She most enjoyed being with family, especially her grandchildren.

She was the daughter of Jesse Alan Tyler and Sarah Louise Painter Tyler and was married to William Rufus Adams, Jr.

She is survived by her sons, Johnny Adams and his wife Danielle and Joseph F. Adams; her daughter, Denise Viola York; her brother, Larry Tyler, her sisters, Charlotte Greer, and Sue; and her grandchildren, Ann Marie York, Rachael Paugh, and Mason Paugh.
