Francis Vernon "Jake" Langley, 76, of California, MD died January 12, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born July 7, 1939 in Great Mills, MD, he is the son of the late Philip Neal Langley and Sarah Alberta Dement.

Jake is a lifelong resident of St. Mary's County. On October 14, 1960, he married his beloved wife, Delores Jane "Jeannie" Hutson. Together they celebrated over 43 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in March 2004.

He was employed as a foreman at Steuart Petroleum in Piney Point, MD until his retirement in the early 1980's.
He also spent many years farming and saw milling. He always grew beautiful gardens, enjoyed hunting, attending blue grass concerts, and going to auctions. However, his greatest love was for his friends and family, whom he loved to spend his time with. He spent many hours devoted to helping others, which was always a priority for him. He had an infectious smile that would light up a room.
