Harry Ernest "Moses" Rice of Newport, Maryland died at his home on Sunday, October 15, 2006. He was 74 years old.

Born July 18, 1932 in Wicomico, Maryland, he is the son of the late Olive Mae and Jarrett W. Rice. Mr. Rice served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War before being Honorably Discharged at the rank of Corporal. He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed countless hours hunting, fishing, crabbing and trapping on the Wicomico River.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Rice was preceded in death by his sister Jean Swann.

He is survived by his wife Carol A. Rice; daughters Pam and her husband Walter Fowler and Patty Rice; son Charles Rice; sisters Margarette Edwards and Grace Franklin; brother Leonard "Buddy" Rice; grandchildren Kimberly Fowler and Ashley Fowler.

Family to receive friends on Thursday, October 19, 2006 from 2 to 4PM and 6 to 8PM with Prayers Thursday Evening at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Road Charlotte Hall, Maryland 20622 where Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 10AM with the Reverend Edward Voorhaar officiating. Interment to follow at the Charles Memorial Gardens in Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers are William Leonard Rice Sr., William Rice, Frank Swann, David Franklin, Michael Rice and Chris Swann. Honorary Pallbearers are Robert Allen Wathen, Joseph Armsworthy and Charles Q. Butler.
