![]() Gorman P. "Speed" Pardoe, 89, of Lusby died April 24, 2008 in Ellicott City, MD. He was born in Calvert County, MD on July 31, 1918 to the late James Wilbur and Mary Mabel Jones Pardoe. Speed was a life long Calvert Co. resident. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII. He then returned home to be a farmer for the better part of his life.
He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth Pardoe of Lusby, MD; three children, Shirley Foley and husband Mike of St. Leonard, MD, Denise Wehland and husband Norman of New Windsor, MD, and Mary Lou Payne and husband Gus of Middletown, MD; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, brother, Douglas Pardoe of Lusby, MD, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert & Clifford Pardoe, and one sister Irene Horsmon. Pallbears were Pat Curran, Michael Foley, John Curran, Eric Curran, Bob Ryan, and Andy Cooksey. Honorary Pallbears were Jim Harrington, John Tierno, Benny Dowell, Bob Stevenson, Teo Tennyson, and Ed Miller all of the American Legion Post# 274. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 25, 2008 from 2- 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM in the Rausch Funeral Home, Port Republic, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Rick Barrick officiating. Interment will follow in the Middleham Chapel Cemetery, Lusby, MD.
